OK, OK ! Paul is getting ahead of me with his postings on the Basilica. My Basilica Update: I introduced 4 more people to OE at the Basilica last Friday. We had a fantastic evening. Oe was awesome, as expected. Kristian remarked to the crowd that it was their largest audience to date. Go Minnesota! At the concert I added 2 more new recruits. Between the 6 of us, we did our part to make Oe feel appreciated with our "cheers". Because I have now seen 3 concerts in 3 weeks, it was an unexpected, fantastic surprise to hear them change up some of their songs. I loved it. <3 Most memorable was "Givin Up", which has a new intro. Adam added about a 3 minute milltone solo which gave me goosebumps. Plus they added new background lyrics, similar to Candi Staton's voiceover in Kandi. Kristian sings the new version completely. The crowd went wild. I can't name the background tune, but it was a perfect match for "Givin Up". A possible new #1 coming up. There was serious security at the concert to keep the groupies at arm's length. That was different from the smaller venues, where you can actually talk to the guys and get hugs upon request. At an event of that size, totally understandable. Worst part was that because 3 different bands were scheduled for the same stage that night, with only a 10-15 minute interlude between them, Oe didn't have time for an encore. Trust me, we did our vocal best to bring them back out. In Omaha, we managed 2 encores from the guys. That is the "standard" to beat. lol Many fans hung out afterwards, sharing interests and experiences. I ran into Adam later that night in the audience of another band. Got to chat very briefly cuz he was busy and the music was too loud. But that shows that they are sociable and mingle with their fans. Very impressive. I have pictures to upload when I get a free minute. Probably this weekend while on vacation. PS. I gave one of my cherished Oe "badges" to a 5 yr old who loves them too. It was bitter sweet, but I was promised that it would be "treasured". <3

Many thanks for your Basilica Update maggieb!! I wish I had been there! Feel free to post the pictures on here If I find more videos from their performance at the Basilica I'll upload them...would really love to hear the new intro and lyrics. I remember at the ICA London gig there were extra lyrics added to 'Chosen One' (Mark you probably remember too as we chatted after the gig). Thanks Kailee - you beat me to it - Paul

Paul - Yep I do remember the added lyrics. I loved that gig, in fact it was one of my favourite OE gigs I've been to. I was tempted to say "No I dont remember" as it was such a long time ago! When are they coming home?? I was hoping for another V performance this year, but it looks very doubtful now with most of the lineup complete.

addition to my previous post: as soon as I had written (the milltone being played) for the first time? (at the Rave Bar)... I remembered I had seen it in an earlier pic. Since I don't archive anything it took a while to find it - it was a pic of the Taste of Randolph Street, Chicago, gig: twitpic.com/1yefnrand here: Reggies Music Joint, Chicago IL on Jul 06 wxrt.radio.com/2010/07/07/free-chill-after-work-show-with-one-eskimo-2/#photo-17and @mark I loved that gig, in fact it was one of my favourite OE gigs I've been to. ... When are they coming home?? I was hoping for another V performance this year, but it looks very doubtful now with most of the lineup complete. They are home or on vacation (see Jamie's Twitter post); according to an interview with Pete they flew back in time to watch the football's world cup final at home - whether they still are or enjoy some much deserved holiday??? I loved that gig too and agree it was one of my favourites as well. Yes it does seem such a long time ago! As Kailee says they're home now (I wish I knew more of their UK plans! V does look unlikely now) but due back in the US this Saturday. - Paul

Following on from the custom made Milltone drum - the band now has a second one! Commissioned by Kristian ... I am SOOOOO interested to hear what the new?? songs will sound like with these sounds - REALLY looking forward to it. But fits Kristians Faithless&Co sounds very well, too... I wonder though why they stick with the milltone... and don't choose a different one like a halo drum additionally offering a different sound. Kailee
